Laamrani Law Firm was born of a dream and a passion. The dream of serving others through the knowledge and expertise gathered over a lifetime — through long and demanding years of learning, both academic and professional, across different sectors and a wide range of professional environments. And the passion that has never ceased to drive me: the passion for advocacy.
Yet, like every great and enduring edifice, it demanded deep commitment and immense dedication; it took tireless effort and countless sacrifices to take shape. Like the mason who cuts rough stone, patient and discerning, I built it stone by stone — armed with no mallet but willpower, and no chisel but determination.

The founder's message, continued
In 1998, I earned both my bachelor's degree in private law, taught in French, and my Certificate of Aptitude for the Legal Profession (CAPA). Refusing to take the easy path, I did not begin practising at once: I joined leading insurance companies and banks, sharpening my skills as an in-house counsel handling litigation. Along the way, I obtained a first postgraduate diploma (DESS) in insurance law and set off for Montreal, where I earned a second postgraduate diploma (DESS) in business law and a certificate in legal English, working for the most prestigious banks and financial services firms in Canada.
Upon returning to Morocco, I continued to lend my legal expertise to major local holding companies — the very best in terms of profitability and market position. That chapter taught me to understand companies' internal constraints from within, and to speak their language.
Before long, I returned to the profession I love most — that of the lawyer — and Laamrani Law Firm was born. The office stands in the heart of downtown Casablanca, on Boulevard du Président Félix Houphouët-Boigny, 5th floor, no. 6.
The firm was created to fill a glaring gap in the assistance and support available to businesses, whatever their size, nationality or ambitions. Its greatest asset — there is no point in denying it — was a complete command of English, and in particular of legal English and business English, which quickly drew the attention of major European, American and Canadian multinationals soon after the firm opened its doors.
We then had the privilege of advising major international organisations and lenders such as the World Bank, the IFC, the OECD and the EBRD, as well as certain leading foreign governments, including the Government of the United States of America. We have also handled major matters involving intellectual and industrial property and trademark law, and pleaded internationally in this field.
The firm's practice grows day by day. From two staff members — an assistant and a courier — we quickly grew to six lawyers handling litigation, debt recovery and certain aspects of advisory work in Moroccan law. Mindful of the importance of international connectivity, and of the obvious limits to any one person's knowledge of every legal system in the world — no lawyer can know everything — Laamrani Law Firm today holds no fewer than twelve partnership and cross-representation agreements with international law firms of global standing: in Canada, the United States of America, Mexico, Japan, China, the Middle East and Africa. We forged these partnerships so that our clients, international and domestic alike, can rely on a comprehensive, one-stop-shop legal and business service. Today, the era of the telex and the Minitel is long gone: this is the age of online, direct legal services, of the internet and modern means of communication, of social and professional networks — and even these tools are quickly being superseded. We are firmly committed to the knowledge economy, artificial intelligence and the third digital revolution. We made that choice from the outset: digitalisation and e-legal services would inevitably prevail. We offer regular online case tracking for litigation clients who request it, and consistently favour communication by email.
We do not claim to be the best law firm in France or in Morocco — no, we make no such pretence. We are wary of law firm rankings and M&A league tables.
For we believe the truth about legal services lies elsewhere. The lawyer, even one inclined chiefly to serve businesses, is and remains an adviser unlike any other: what sets him apart is personalised service, attentive care, closeness and the empathy he shows his client. Honours and compliments may please him, but they will never satisfy him — he knows that everything remains to be done in the long, patient work of gradual self-improvement.

Maître Laamrani acquired broad and specialised legal experience, first in North America in international insurance brokerage and at leading investment banks, then in Morocco in real estate, large-scale retail, logistics and transport.
Maître Laamrani published several articles on PPPs, public infrastructure financing, reinsurance and the banking professions.
Expert mandates for several international organisations and appointment as special adviser to several governments.
Education & admissions
Abdelatif Laamrani is the founder and principal lawyer of the firm, in charge of international business law, general legal advisory work and the Corporate / M&A Department. A member of the Casablanca, Paris (2018) and Montreal (2018) Bars, he holds a Doctor of Law (PhD in Law) from the prestigious Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
He is a graduate of Hassan II University of Casablanca (postgraduate diploma (DESS) in insurance law) and holds a Master in Management from ESSEC. Abdelatif spent several years in Montreal working with Canadian companies and banks, including BMO Bank of Montreal and TD Bank.
His international expertise enables him to work on complex cross-border transactions. He advises on international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, arbitration, real estate transactions, domestic and international contracts, and financing operations. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Arabic.
Maître Abdelatif Laamrani is the author of « Droit bancaire marocain » (Moroccan Banking Law), published by LexisNexis in The MENA Collection (2023, with a foreword by Dominique Legeais). The book covers the latest banking reforms — crowdfunding, participatory banking, crypto-assets, and electronic and digital means of payment — and is intended for banking professionals, regulators, judges, lawyers, students and academics.
He also published « Le rôle du gouverneur au Maroc » (The Role of the Governor in Morocco) with Éditions L'Harmattan (December 2016, 696 pages, with a foreword by Michel Verpeaux and an introduction by Michel Rousset), a legal, historical, sociological and anthropological study of the institution of the governor within the local administrative order.
His scholarly writings appear in the Lexis MA database, notably his study « La qualification juridique du jeu vidéo : de l'objet technique à l'œuvre de l'esprit complexe » (The Legal Characterisation of the Video Game: from Technical Object to Complex Work of Authorship).
